Ishtar and the flight to Stygia
Volume 1, Chapter 1, page 4
“For some months after, I was depressed and angry, all at the once. Depressed - I could not work out why she left. Was there something horribly wrong with me? And angry, because for all it preached, my priestly virtues had not kept my wife with me, not solved her spiritual problems. There was another woman who was angry at Ceara too for how she left me - Kissa, another in Invicta. She convinced me to follow Ishtar, not Mitra, and for a time we were together. But then she too, left, and so I did not know what to do. I ran away… just as I had done so at sixteen. But this time I ran to Stygia.”
